Police have a man in custody following an alleged sexual assault in an Aberdeen city centre park.
Police sealed off Union Terrace Gardens this morning to investigate the incident.
One of the arches in the park was been taped off and police are restricting all access to the gardens.
A spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that they were investigating a sexual assault today that occurred within Union Terrace Gardens during the early hours of Sunday.
“As a result a 26 year old man has been charged and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The sex assault comes just two months after another incident in the gardens where a woman was raped.
Police have yet to make any form of arrest in relation to the January attack.
