A north-east cancer charity is hoping to drive up donations by raffling off a brand new car.
Friends of Anchor – which is based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – offers a wide range of support to all kinds of cancer patients from across the north-east of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland.
The organisation is now raffling off a £7,000 Ford Ka in their latest effort to put their fundraising into top gear.
Cash raised from the raffle will go towards helping Friends of Anchor support those suffering from cancer and their families across the region, assist Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in procuring specialist medical equipment, and fund important cancer research projects at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Tickets for the event cost £5 each, and the winner will be announced on June 21.
The charity’s chairman James Milne said: “It is so exciting that the winner will have the chance to be behind the wheel of their shiny new car just in time for the summer holidays.
“We’re hoping the public will come on board to support this latest fundraising campaign from Friends of Anchor to help us champion the cause in the north-east.
“This is the first time we’ve had a brand new car to raffle off, so the ticket sales will bring a necessary boost to help the charity bring the very best care, treatment and support for those undergoing treatment at the Anchor Unit.”
In the coming months, volunteers from the charity will be travelling around the north-east, selling raffle tickets.
