Two Aberdeenshire nurseries have been praised by inspectors for their impressive work in nurturing children.
Pitmedden Primary School and Nursery Class was commended by Education Scotland for the “positive ethos” which has been implemented across the classes and applauded for its provision of clubs and committees which has allowed children to expand their learning further than just in the classroom.
The report stated: “They [the children] develop a strong sense of commitment by their active participation and establishment of the many school committees and groups.
The report also highlighted the work of the staff in ensuring that the needs of the children were being met and drew attention to the positive work of the headteacher.
The employees at Wee Rascals in Kintore also received praise from Education Scotland, with particular mention going to the management team who continue to maintain “a clear focus on improving outcomes for children.”
The report commented: “All the children benefit from the caring and responsive approach of the staff team. Babies are confident to move around freely and explore a variety of play experiences.”
In both cases, Education Scotland concluded they were satisfied with the overall quality of provision and that both facilities were moving in the right direction.
