A follow-up inspection of a north-east academy by Education Scotland has found a number of improvements at the school, ranging from better leadership to enhanced exam results.
Inspectors noted a 6% increase in S4 National 5 passes in the exam results of pupils at Fraserburgh Academy.
Following the last inspection in 2014, the latest report by the education body highlighted a number of positive factors, including a heightened sense of pride around the school community, a greater emphasis on learning, and an improvement in leadership at the Broch school.
The school’s head teacher David Clark said: “I am pleased with the results of the follow-up visit from Education Scotland.
“We have carried out a great deal of work over the past two years here at Fraserburgh Academy following our previous inspection in 2014.
“The overwhelming message from the inspectors was the atmosphere within the school is very calm and purposeful and young people are focused on learning.
“I am proud of the pupils, staff and our learning community for their hard work which has transformed learning in the school.
“We will continue to make progress to achieve even better results, make further improvements and improve outcomes for young people in Fraserburgh.”
