A health and social care centre in Aberdeen has received a £300,000 grant from a national fund for its outreach programme for people with neurological conditions.
The Sue Ryder Dee View Court centre received the cash from Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland.
The money will be spent on employing a new specialist nurse, two support workers, and will help more than 1,200 people in Aberdeen with neurological conditions to gain more independence and improve their well-being.
Valerie Maxwell, the centre’s director, said: “This funding is absolutely essential to the provision of our outreach programme and is going to have a really positive impact on people in Aberdeen with neurological conditions.
“Demand for support from Sue Ryder Dee View Court is rising and so we need funding like this to prevent people with neurological conditions in Aberdeen becoming socially isolated and seeing their conditions worsen.
“I’m confident that the one-to-one support we’ll now be able to provide will help people take control and enjoy their lives as independently and fully as possible.”
