A man has been charged with hitting a pedestrian on an Aberdeen road before driving over her with his lorry.
David Clark is alleged to have driven his vehicle dangerously on May 7 last year while on the city’s Rosemount viaduct.
It is claimed he struck Christine Grant after “failing to keep a proper look out” and that he exited a junction when it was not safe to do so.
Court papers stated that Clark, of 83 Byron Crescent, Aberdeen, failed to “adhere to the traffic lights” which caused his lorry to crash into Ms Grant and knock her to the floor.
It is further claimed the 45-year-old then drove over her body causing her “severe injury and permanent impairment”.
A letter submitted on his behalf was lodged at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday pleading not guilty to the offence.
He will go on trial later this year.
