A man has been charged with neglecting a number of dogs at his Aberdeen home.
David Munro is alleged to have neglected two dogs, Tinky and Sasha, by failing to get appropriate treatment for their skin conditions between August 20 and October 29 last year.
It is further claimed that he kept a “quantity of dogs” at his home in Charleston, Nigg, in squalid conditions.
Court papers stated that the 37-year-old failed to provide adequate lighting and comfortable resting areas for the animals.
He is also alleged to have “exposed them to faeces and urine” and allowed them to live in an area with exposed metal bed springs.
It is claimed that they were also exposed to ammonia which caused eye irritations and he is said to have failed to provide the animals with adequate drinking water or nutrition.
Court papers further stated that Munro, of Cadorna, Charleston, Nigg, “failed to allow the quantity of dogs to exhibit normal behaviour patterns” in that he is alleged to have isolated them and failed to provide them with “appropriate exercise”.
The case against Munro was continued without plea for three weeks when it was called at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
