50-year-old woman dies following Aberdeenshire crash

A 50-year-old woman has died following a two-car crash on an Aberdeenshire road earlier today.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were all called to the collision between a Ford Fiesta and a Volkswagen Jetta on the B9170 Inverurie to Oldmeldrum road, at Barravale.
One woman, who was driving one of the cars, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but died from her injuries.
Another woman, who was at the wheel of another of the cars, is also said to be seriously injured.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following a two vehicle collision on the B9170 Inverurie to Oldmeldrum road at about noon today, the 55-year-old female driver of one of the vehicles has sadly died in hospital.
“Police request anyone who saw the collision call on 101.”
