An Aberdeenshire woman has been named as the victim of a car crash near Inverurie yesterday.
Helen Thorley, 50, from the Oldmeldrum area, was killed in the crash on the B9170.
The collision occurred shortly before midday and involved two cars, a silver Volkswagen Jetta and a blue Ford Fiesta.
Her family paid tribute to Helen in a statement issued by police: “We are absolutely devastated at the loss of our mum who was a much loved daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
“We will support each other as a family and ask that we are left alone to grieve.”
Police are urging anyone who saw either of the two vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone who stopped to offer help, to contact them on 101.
