A public meeting will be held in Ellon later this month for victims of the recent floods.
The River Ythan rose to record levels in January, with more than 40 people rescued from their home by boat after it burst its banks.
Now the community council has teamed up with Aberdeenshire Council to host a flood response evening to keep residents updated about what is being done to prevent a similar incident.
SEPA and the Scottish Flood Forum will also be in attendance at the April 21 meeting in the Ellon Academy Community Campus.
Attendees will also be briefed on what they can do to create their own resilience group.
Community council secretary Tom Craggs said: “It will give the community the opportunity to hear from SEPA, Aberdeenshire Council and Scottish Flood Forum representatives about what the various organisations have done and continue to do to return the community to normality.”
Since the flood, Ellon residents and local businesses have banded together to support those directly affected by the floods.
A total of 45 residents from 14 homes in The Meadows area of the town had to be evacuated after the river burst its banks, while those living in the Meiklemill area were also badly affected.
Mr Craggs said: “To date individuals and organisations have donated over £2,100 in addition to the all the donations of furniture, food, clothes and cleaning kits.
“The volunteer helpers, who are too numerous to mention, from the churches, schools and sports organisations have been ever willing to give freely of their time to help with house stripping and moving.”
The meeting will run from 6.30pm-8.30pm. For more information, e-mail tecraggs@outlook.com
