When David Hawson joined a group of volunteers in Monymusk last month to clear the surrounding roads of rubbish Red Bull was the most common item found.
And following this he has presented the chief executive of the drinks brand with an unusual gift – his painting of a can with a message on it.
In the background it says he was “awarded the first prize by the village of Monymusk by contributing the highest number of drinks can packaging on the road verges.”
Mr Hawson said: “While I accept it is not the CEO’s fault I would like to hear what he is doing to promote awareness of litter and prevent it from happening.”
