A north-east Scottish parliamentary candidate has reactivated his twitter account – less than a month after shutting it down due to the “negative atmosphere.”
Mark McDonald, standing for the Aberdeen Donside, was one of the SNP’s most prolific users of the site – sending out 27,000 tweets since joining in 2011.
But last month he said he was finding it “less enjoyable.”
He said: “There are some people who use Twitter solely to attack people.
“My use of twitter has always been to try to inform, entertain and bring a bit of understanding but the atmosphere has become increasingly negative.
“At he moment, I’m finding it a less than enjoyable medium to communicate with people.”
