An Aberdeenshire village is gearing up for its first ever celebration of fine ales, IPAs, ciders and rums.
The inaugural Beer at the Barn at Lochter will take place on Friday, April 22 and run until Saturday, April 23 across three sessions of live music and unique drinks from across the country.
The event at Oldmeldrum’s Lochter Activity Centre is the fourth festival now in the arsenal of Banchory brothers, Mungo and Guy Finlayson.
The duo are behind the Banchory and Inverurie beer festivals as well as the Deeside winter knee’s up, the Beer at the Barn.
Speaking yesterday Mungo said they were close to having a festival “for all the seasons”.
Mungo added: “Lochter Activity Centre approached us after a talk we did in Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce with Banchory Lodge. The first Inverurie one was pretty popular.
“We now have four main events and are doing lots of little small things off the back of them.
“After the success of the Banchory festivals and our original Inverurie festival we are delighted to be hosting a mini festival at Lochter Activity Centre to keep our Deeside and Donside fans happy year round.”
Drinks will be on offer from the likes of Cromarty, Fyne Ales, Pilot Beers and Ilkley breweries; as well as Banchory’s own Dark Matter rum and Aberdeen’s Porter’s Gin.
Bands include Loki, Rotu and The Funcy Pieces.
Three sessions will be held at the festival – Friday evening, and Saturday afternoon and evening.
A shuttle bus will be available to take festival-goers from Inverurie town hall to the activity park. It will run every 30 minutes for the first two hours of each session and thereafter on demand at £6 return or £4 for a single journey.
The last of the tickets for the event are still up for grabs and can be purchased by visiting
