The family of an Aberdeen woman who died from cancer have paid tribute to her “love for life.”
Bizzy Cormack discovered a lump on one of her breasts three years ago and was later diagnosed with the disease.
The 49-year-old from Garthdee died at the weekend with her daughters Emma, 29, Laura, 19, her husband Norman, sister Joyce Rennie and long-term friend Michele Dyker by her side.
Laura later paid tribute to her, saying: “She was the most amazing, beautiful and courageous woman that put up some fight for two ears.
“She was such an inspiration and we are all so proud of her.
“She had this love for life that we all admired so much. She just took every day as they came and, even through the hard times, she was still making everybody laugh with her cracking sense of humour.
“Even towards the end, we were laughing about a cuddly broccoli which her friend got her to cheer her up.”
She had been due to start 18 weeks of chemotherapy after being told last week the cancer had spread to her liver, but her condition deteriorated before she could begin the treatment.
Her family and friends in the nearby communities had been raising funds to help her to visit her sister in Boston in October – who she had not seen in 23 years.
She was unable to make the trip but the £3,000 raised will now to go Clan Cancer Support, Cancer Research and Friends of Anchor.
Her husband Norman Cormack said: “We had been saving up to go and see her sister Sally Conner who has multiple sclerosis and was unable to travel over here.
“I’ve never met her before and we were looking forward to it, but unfortunately we won’t be able to make it.”
