A man was taken to hospital yesterday after a flat fire in Aberdeen.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on George Street at about 5.15am, and evacuated the building.
One man was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be serious.
A fire and rescue spokesman said: “We got the call at 5.15am. We sent three appliances and a height vehicle. Two of the appliances were from Central and the height vehicle was from North Anderson Drive.
“The stop message is back, it came in at 6.45am. There was one casualty.”
An ambulance spokeswoman added: “We attended, the call originated from the fire service – they asked us to attend and there was one male casualty taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
The road was closed between Fraser Place and Powis Place but reopened at about 8.10am.
Police confirmed a joint investigation into the cause of the fire is not required.
