A charity bicycle ride which took eight employees from the Stewart Milne Group on a 730-mile trip came to an end in Aberdeen yesterday.
The bikers set off from Manchester on Thursday, April 7 and raised £50,000, which will now be split between The ARCHIE Foundation in Aberdeen, the Beatson Cancer Charity in Glasgow and the Christie Cancer Charity in Manchester.
The group consisted of Aileen Beverly and Joe Morris from Aberdeen, Gary Milne and Alan Sneddon from Edinburgh, Niall Campbell, Patrick Gardiner and Stuart Henderson from Glasgow and Stephen Daintith from Manchester.
Gary Milne said afterwards: “The past nine days have been absolutely fantastic.
Along every stage of our cycle, people have been out cheering us on and giving us muchneeded encouragement and support.
“It has been an absolutely incredible experience which has been made even better knowing we are raising funds for three such deserving causes.
“Before we set out, we knew that there was an excellent sense of community and team spirit across Stewart Milne Group as a company.
“But we have been overwhelmed by the way all our colleagues, friends, family and the local communities we visited have all came together to support us.”
