Police and ambulance crews attended, and the man was treated at the scene for a leg injury before being flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for further treatment.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We transported one male to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in a serious but stable condition.”
A polices “There was a two-vehicle crash, motorbike versus car. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital, but the driver of the car was not injured.”
The front driver’s side of the car was badly damaged.
The entry to the road from the A920 Oldmeldrum to Colpy Road was closed for around four hours as police waited for the vehicles to be recovered. It was finally reopened at 7pm.
