Police have arrested a man after the bomb squad was called out to deal with an item found at a business in Aberdeen.
The area surrounding the building on Springhill Road, including Ythan Road and Provost Fraser Drive., remains cordoned off
Police, fire and ambulance crews were in attendance alongside the bomb disposal unit last night at around 9.15pm.
It is understood police initially attended the incident after reports of an attempted robbery.
A force spokesman said: “Officers along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service attended a suspected attempted housebreaking incident at a commercial premises in Springhill Road, Aberdeen.
“On arrival, police found an item located at the premises and as a result an EOD unit from Edinburgh was requested to attend.
“They have since stood down.
“A cordon is now in place in the immediate vicinity of the building and there is no threat to the public.
“A male is currently detained and Springhill Road will be closed for most of the day at this location.”
