A man has appeared in court accused of beating two children with a metal baseball bat.
Andrew Geddie allegedly attacked a 10-year-old boy at an address in Aberdeenshire on July 7 last year.
It is claimed the 50-year-old repeatedly struck the child on the head with the bat causing him severe injury.
He is further accused of assaulting another child on the same day by hitting him on the body with the bat before seizing hold of him and throwing him to the ground.
Prosecutors allege Geddie then sat on the child, pinning him to the ground before repeatedly punching him to the head and body to his injury.
Geddie, of Westhill, is also accused of acting in a threatening and abusive manner towards the children on the same day by shouting and swearing at them while brandishing the baseball bat.
He denies the allegations against him and will go on trial later this year.
