The body of Xin Xin Liu was discovered in her Newton Mearns home on Tuesday night after police were called to a disturbance. Xin Xin is believed to have graduated with a post graduate degree from the University of Aberdeen after studying law and journalism in China. The 39-year-old was described by neighbours as a “really lovely lady”. A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today. Police officers are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and forensic teams remain at the house, which has been cordoned off.
