A woman has been charged after a lamb was killed in an alleged attack at a north-east farm.
The 53-year-old has been charged in connection with an incident of sheep worrying at Woodside of Cairness, near Fraserburgh, on Thursday.
The alleged incident happened at about 2pm.
Sergeant Colin Houston urged dog owners to keep their pets under control when out walking.
“Please take responsibility for your dogs, and please know where they are,” he said. “We may not think our family pets are capable of causing injury, but it is a dog’s natural instinct to chase.
“My advice to anyone walking and exercising their dogs in the countryside is to ensure that they are under control at all times and to avoid going into fields where livestock is grazing.
“Please think ahead when you’re out for your walk, think about what might tempt your dog to run off, and if in doubt put them on a lead.”
