This childish policeman was caught on camera swinging into action after telling youths to leave a DIY playpark.
The pivoting policeman was seen using the homemade rope swing in Aberdeen earlier this week.
It is understood concerned residents had asked officers to investigate after a group of youngsters set up the potentially dangerous tree swing near a high ledge overlooking a construction yard in the city’s Torry area.
But it came as a surprise to onlookers when one of the constables decided to have some fun himself.
Another uniformed colleague can be seen standing nearby as his partner plays around on the swing.
One social media user wrote: “Nothing beats having fun at work.
“Police Scotland having a fun time in Torry. Hide and seek tomorrow?”
Police Scotland yesterday claimed the officer who was pictured hanging from a tree swing was engaging with children in a “light-hearted manner as the situation required”.
Chief inspector Graeme Mackie said: “Our officers responded to a report of concern from a member of the public on Tuesday regarding children playing on a makeshift swing in the Torry area.
“Police Scotland’s main priority is the safety of the public, and in this case our main priority was the safety of the children involved.
“Community policing often requires different ways of handling different situations, and on this occasion the officer in question engaged with the children in a light-hearted manner as the situation required and the children involved responded very positively to this.”
