The daughter of a missing climber has said she and her family have taken “great comfort” from the dedicated search teams still scouring the Cairngorms for him.
Jim Robertson was reported missing after going out in the hills on February 29.
The 61-year-old, who is an experienced hillwalker, had been staying at Bob Scott’s Bothy near Derry Lodge in Glen Lui on March 1.
But although no trace of him has been found, Braemar Mountain Rescue Team have continued their search – widening the area the are hunting further.
And with the weather improving, the teams have also started camping on the hills overnight to maximise the time spent in remote locations.
One group camped overnight in the Moine Mhor above Loch Einich, while others searched in the Dee, Luibeg, Eidart and Geldie areas throughout the week.
Mr Robertson’s daughter, Lynn, yesterday thanked the team for their effort and posted on their social media page: “My family and I can’t thank all of you enough.
“We miss our Dad more than any words could ever say but the incredible job you are doing brings us great comfort.
“It means everything to us to know you are still searching for him.”
Ms Robertson has also set up a Justgiving page for the BMRT, which has raised nearly £12,000.
She added: “Regardless of the outcome, we are truly overwhelmed by their kindness, compassion and commitment.
“We are now hoping that BMRT can recover our Dad’s body and bring him home to us.
“Once we have him home, we can say our final goodbyes and return our dearest Dad to the hills, where he belongs.
“We only wish our Dad could see just how much has been done for him. He would be so amazed and deeply moved.”
Police have continued to appeal for anyone who met him before his walk who may be able to help narrow down the area of search.
Search teams still have no clear indication as to the exact route which he intended to take.
