The wife of an Aberdeen man, accused of exposing himself to two schoolgirls, has told a court she would have left him if she believed he was guilty.
Allahbaksh Nadaf is on trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, accused of the two charges and of sexually assaulting another child in a separate incident.
The 30-year-old denies the charges, which are alleged to have taken place over a 14-month period between November 2014 and January this year.
Giving evidence yesterday, Nadaf’s wife, Ruma, told the jury she supported her husband and did not believe he was guilty of “any crimes”.
Under cross-examination from fiscal depute Jamie Bernard, she admitted she would be devastated if she thought her husband was guilty.
Mrs Nadaf, who previously worked as a child protection officer in London and Dundee, said: “If I thought that any of the evidence that had been shown to me implicated him in any way, I would have left him, without a doubt.”
The couple’s friends, Chengetai Jambwa and Gemma Anderson, were also called to the witness box.
Miss Jambwa, 34, who lives with Nadaf at 597 Clifton Road, said she had known him for eight or nine years and called the charges “complete nonsense”.
And Miss Anderson, 35, from Inverurie, said the accusations had left Nadaf, his wife, and their one-year-old son “distraught”.
All three girls, who cannot be named for legal reasons, gave evidence in the trial earlier this week.
A joint minute of agreement was put forward by Mr Bernard and defence agent, George Mathers, which recognised there were “inconsistencies” between the girls’ police interviews and their testimony in court.
Nadaf is accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl on Park Place, Aberdeen, while she made her way to school on November 25, 2014.
He is also alleged to have exposed himself to an eight-year-old girl in Flourmill Lane on January 26 last year.
Nadaf, who gave evidence on Wednesday, admitted he was captured on CCTV at the time of the incident.
He also faces a third charge that he exposed himself to a 10-year-old on January 15 this year.
The trial, before Sheriff Graham Buchanan, continues.
