Developers have tried to win permission to erect a house at 11 Baillieswells Road in Bieldside five times over the last six years. Three of the applications were dismissed outright, and two were approved with conditions which were subsequently not met. The property which once stood on the site was demolished after lying empty for a number of years. But now Bonhurst Ltd has become the latest developer to apply to Aberdeen City Council for permission to build a new home on the ground. The plan is to use the southern half of the site for a five-bedroom detached home with integral double garage. Objectors to previous planning applications claimed they would lead to a loss of privacy in the garden at 4 Baillieswells Drive. But the developers believe that, as the new proposal is for the southern part of the site only, this will no longer be an issue.
