Police have named the victim of a fatal accident on the north-east’s busiest road.
William Buchan died when a white Ford Transit and a white Mercedes Vito van collided on the Peterhead-Ellon stretch of the A90 at Hatton at about 10.45am yesterday.
The 48-year-old driver, of Peterhead, is believed to be an Aberdeenshire Council worker.
He was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he later died.
The 26-year-old driver of the Mercedes was also rushed to ARI suffering from serious injuries.
Sergeant Colin Matheson said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Buchan’s family and friends at this very sad time.
“I am appealing once again to anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles prior to the collision, or who saw the incident itself and who has not yet come forward, to do so as soon as possible. You can contact Police on 101.”
