The fire broke out within farm buildings in the Esslemont area of Ellon at 6pm yesterday before being extinguished just before 9pm. Two fire appliances from Ellon along with ones from Oldmeldrum and Maud dealt with the blaze. A water carrier from Turriff and an incident support vehicle from Dyce were also called to the incident. A fire and rescue spokesman said: “There was a fire just before 6pm in Ellon, we had four pumps there. It was farm buildings that were on fire. “The call came in at 5.54pm and the last pump left at 8.55pm. There was one casualty treated for smoke inhalation.”
