A north-east songstress is hoping to hit the right note after landing a support slot with one of the world’s biggest music stars.
Morven Lind, who lives in the Berryden area of Aberdeen, is among a group of promising young singers who have been picked to perform at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales.
They will appear just before Katherine Jenkins, the Welsh singer who has sold millions of records worldwide.
Miss Lind, 26, says the group has been given a “fantastic opportunity”.
“I’m probably Katherine Jenkins’ biggest fan,” she said.
“And to have a chance to sing on stage, at an event as important as the International Musical Eisteddfod is, quite frankly, mind-blowing.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and something I’m really looking forward to doing. It will be a real opportunity to get my name out there and for people to really see and hear what I can do. It’s a dream come true.”
The Aberdeen University music graduate is now being put through her paces by husband and wife opera voice coaches, Anne Williams-King and David Bartleet.
Miss Lind, who works as a restaurant manager, dreams of one day turning professional, and hopes the training, at Llangollen church, will help her make the leap to the big stage.
She added: “My singing coach is a friend of Anne Williams-King and she told me about the opera course. It’s been fantastic and taught me so much.
“I think you can see everyone on the course improving every day, it’s amazing and to get feedback and a new experience is so important. My singing coach is really good but to have new input and opinions is invaluable.
Miss Lind and her fellow singers will perform on July 5.
