Six appliances and 28 firefighters have been called to the incident at the former GAP store on St Nicholas Street in the city centre. Fire teams were alerted to the incident at 3pm. Two crews form Aberdeen Central, and one each from North Anderson Drive, Dyce Kintore and Ellon were sent along with a height vehicle. A fire and rescue spokeswoman confirmed: “We are currently down at St Nicholas Street above the old Gap building which is under development.” Police officers are also on the scene as they keep the area around the fire clear.
