The planning committee of Aberdeen City Council received a frosty reception from protesters as a site visit of Victoria Road Primary School was carried out.
Members are meeting today to hear objections to proposals to demolish the site and convert it into 62 residential units.
But protesters gathered at the site and made clear their clear objection to the planned demolition.
Torry resident Simon Mclean said:
“This plan could cost us an unnecessary £10million.
“Bureaucrats are advising the city council to spend £19million elsewhere when we’ve got a perfectly good school here.”
Where the protests took place
Wendy Milne-Emslie added:
“My nephew lives in Torry and can’t get a place in a school here.
“If they’re going to build all these flats half of them could have a kid in them, and where are they going to go to school.
“You can see an air raid shelter form the Second World War, there’s so much history and it’s such a shame to see it go”
