Riasat Khan appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court last week facing a charge of murder. And yesterday the 62-year-old, who is described as having no fixed abode, appeared again and made no plea during his hearing.
He was fully committed and remanded in custody.
Mr Ahmad managed the Raj Dulal restaurant in Dee Street. He was last seen on October 13 at the city’s Regency Casino.
Mr Ahmad’s body was discovered in his two-bedroom property by staff from the restaurant.
In the days and weeks following the death, police said inquiries were being made “the length and breadth of the country”. Mr Ahmad, originally from Bangladesh came to Britain in the early 1960s.
He worked in Perth before moving to Aberdeen to become a partner at the Raj Dulal restaurant.
