Motorcyclist seriously injured and road partly closed after A90 crash

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision on a busy north-east commuter route.

The accident happened on the southbound carriageway of the A90 Aberdeen to Stonehaven road, at the Muchalls bend, at 3pm.

Police and ambulance crews were in attendance and paramedics have taken the patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

His injuries are believed to be serious.

No other vehicle is thought to have been involved in the crash.

A police spokeswoman said motorists were experiencing delays as the route was down to one-lane southbound.
