Detectives are appealing for information after a spate of vandalism and anti-social behaviour at a north-east graveyard.
In recent weeks, vandals have daubed graffiti on the walls of Peterhead Cemetery. The marks have subsequently been removed.
Last night, Sergeant Scott Massie said: “Vandalism and anti-social behaviour in any shape or form is not wanted in our communities, nor will it be tolerated.
“Targeting a cemetery is completely unacceptable and I don’t think I need to stress the distress that can be caused to families and friends visiting.”
Sgt Massie said time and money has now been “wasted” on the task of removing the graffiti.
He added: “I would ask anyone with information about anti-social behaviour they have noticed in the area to please contact your local station on 101.
“If you want to remain anonymous, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
