A fundraising campaign has been launched in memory of a popular man who died at work this week.
Graham Forsyth, 57, from Drumlithie, was killed after being struck by a reversing lorry at Colin Lawson Transport in the Harness Park area of Altens in Aberdeen.
Now, Mr Forsyth’s family and friends have created an appeal to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind and Partially Sighted in his memory.
The JustGiving page, set up by friend Elayne Ingram, has already raised over £5,000.
One of Mr Forsyth’s friends, Allan Buchan, said: “Graham was so fond of his dog and he absolutely loved animals, so we thought this was a nice charity to raise money for.
“The fundraiser will be a rock for everyone who knew Graham because he was such a popular guy.”
Over 100 people have already donated, following what have been a shattering few days for Mr Forsyth’s many friends and family.
Mr Buchan continued: “You don’t expect to go to work on Monday and not come home.
“Whatever company he drove for, I would always see Graham. Everyone knew Graham and it really breaks my heart he is no longer here with us.
“If you were in Graham’s company for just two seconds, you would be laughing because he was such a funny guy.
“He had a fantastic sense of humour and was such a loving man.”
Ms Ingram wrote on the JustGiving page: “As we look back on our fond memories of Graham Forsyth, work colleague, friend, uncle, fellow trucker and, of course, husband to Sandra, we all sit in absolute shock.”
Since the page was established, Guide Dogs have agreed to have a puppy in Mr Forsyth’s memory, which his wife will be able to name.
Tributes on the page also flocked in from friends.
One wrote: “So sorry for your loss Sandra, Graham was a great person with a fantastic sense of humour and he’ll be sadly missed by all.”
It is also hoped that a bench with a memorial plaque will be placed at the animal charity’s training school in memory of Mr Forsyth.
An investigation into Mr Forsyth’s death on Monday has been launched by Police Scotland and the Health and Safety Executive.
