A man remains in serious condition after being hit by a car outside a north-east primary school late last night.
The man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by the car just yards from Ellon Primary School.
Police today confirmed the 55-year-old man was still alive but he was in a serious condition following the incident.
Only one car was involved in the crash, a white Vauxhall, at 8.05pm on Station Road, Ellon.
Following the incident, the car appeared to have suffered extensive damage to the windscreen and was parked just metres in front of a pedestrian crossing.
A police spokesman confirmed that the man was transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and had received medical care throughout the night.
No one has been charged in relation to the incident.
