A man remains in a “serious condition” after being hit by a car in an Aberdeenshire town.
The 49-year-old was struck by a white Vauxhall Astra near Ellon Primary School, on Station Road, on Sunday just after 8pm.
He remains in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Last night police appealed for witnesses to come forward with information which could aid their investigation into the incident.
The man driving the Vauxhall was not injured.
Officers cordoned off the road on Sunday night, spending hours investigating the incident.
Constable Andy Taylor said: “Our thoughts are with the injured male’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time in question to please come forward as we piece together the circumstances of this incident – any information at all may be of assistance.
“Likewise, anyone who saw the vehicle involved in the moments leading up to the collision should also come forward.”
