Police have appealed for witnesses after thieves broke into a north-east shop.
The thieves, believed to be two men, targeted the the Spar shop on North Deeside Road, Peterculter, at around 2.15am this morning.
A large window at the front of the shop was smashed and police have cordoned off the area as they carry out an investigation.
Police confirmed that a quantity of alcohol worth a “low four-figure sum of money” was stolen.
Officers believe there were two men involved and that they travelled to the area in a black Audi Q5 which was earlier stolen from the Ury Meadows area of Inverurie.
Detective Constable Emma Low who is investigating the incident said, “At this stage of the investigation, we are concentrating on the collection and viewing of CCTV footage, conducting house to house enquiries and forensic examinations are being undertaken.
“I would remind owners of vehicles to make sure they keep their vehicles locked when not being used and that they remove all valuable items and where supplied by the manufacturer, they remove any emergency keys supplied with their vehicles.
“I would urge any member of the public who believes they have information relating to these crimes to contact Police Scotland on 101, or alternatively they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
