An Aberdeen hotel has gone up in flames this afternoon.
Fire crews are in attendance at the blaze at the Britannia Hotel in Bucksburn.
The blaze started inside the hotel around 4.30 but flames can now be seen coming outside the building.
Smoke can be seen from a distance away from the blaze
A spokeswoman for the fire service was unable to give any details about the incident but said: “We have had confirmation of a hotel fire, after taking a call at 4.40pm.”
Police have closed Old Meldrum Road in both directions between Auchmill Road and Gilbert Road while emergency services deal with the blaze.
