A teenager is fighting for his life today after a serious two-car crash on a busy north-east road.
The 19-year-old man, who has not yet been named by police, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries as a result of the collision on the A944 road.
A second man was also been taken to hospital to be treated for whiplash but has now been released.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after the accident occurred at around 4.45pm yesterday.
The cars involved were a Seat Ibiza and a Mercedes convertible.
The A944 was closed between Dunecht and Ordhead yesterday but the road has now fully reopened.
