People in the north-east have been warned to be on alert after a floodwarning was issued for the whole of Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) warned that rain, which battered down overnight, is expected to continue throughout the evening.
They advised that localised flooding was possible from this afternoon and advised property owners to take action to “protect yourself and your property”.
The message comes after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning, advising that heavy rain was anticipated to continue throughout the night.
The alert, which is in place until further notice, reads: “Persistent rain which has affected this area overnight, has been forecast to continue during Wednesday.
“Some rivers and smaller watercourse across Aberdeenshire are now responding to this rain and some localised flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible from this afternoon and through the evening.
“Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.
“Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188. “
