Two rivers which encircle a north-east town are continuing to rise as communities across the region have been put on flood alert.
Heavy rains across Aberdeenshire have swelled the Deveron and Bogie rivers near Huntly. A number of road closures are also in effect.
Dramatic pictures show the new level of the water and come only months after winter storms caused the worst flooding in living memory.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) has warned that rain, which battered down overnight, is expected to continue throughout the evening.
In the Deeside area the road between Feughside Inn and the AA Box is closed to traffic along with the B974 at Strachan and Glassel Road in Banchory.
They advised that localised flooding was possible from this afternoon and advised property owners to take action to “protect yourself and your property”.
The message comes after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning, advising that heavy rain was anticipated to continue throughout the night.
The alert, which is in place until further notice, reads: “Persistent rain which has affected this area overnight, has been forecast to continue during Wednesday.
“Some rivers and smaller watercourse across Aberdeenshire are now responding to this rain and some localised flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible from this afternoon and through the evening.
“Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.
