A man has denied stealing thousands of pounds worth of bicycles from around Aberdeen.
Andrew Reid appeared at the city’s sheriff court from custody yesterday facing seven crimes of dishonesty.
It is alleged the 22-year-old took, and attempted to steal, bikes from Talisman Energy offices, Harlaw Academy, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the James Hutton Institute.
He is also alleged to have committed the crimes at various addresses in the city on various occasions between May last year and Tuesday.
Reid, of 29 Gillespie Crescent, denied the charges against him and will go on trial later this year.
He was released on bail.
Last night a police spokeswoman said that the majority of the “high value” bikes which had been stolen from the west end, Rosemount and Hazlehead areas of the city had now been recovered.
