More than a dozen Aberdeen drivers have been charged with anti-social behaviour after abandoning their vehicles on pavements and grassy areas.
Police launched a targeted operation to find the culprits after neighbours complained of unnecessary obstructions caused by the errant parking.
During a number of high-visibility patrols, 13 people were charged with a variety of road traffic offences, while 26 others were spoken to about inappropriate parking.
Offenders were warned that further misbehaviour could result in more being taken after seizure orders were submitted for two of the vehicles.
Constable Daniel Baird from the Tillydrone Local Policing Team said: “These patrols were carried out in response to complaints raised by residents at local meetings and through direct contact with Police Scotland.
“By working with our colleagues the Community Wardens I hope we have gone some way to reassuring residents that we take these complaints seriously and will actively deal with offenders. This was a worthwhile operation that will be repeated in the future.”
