Plans for a waste facility in East Tullos have met with significant opposition from residents in the south of the city.
Four community councils in the area are planning to launch a complaint against Aberdeen City Council – claiming that their concerns have been ignored.
Simon Maclean, of Torry community council, said: “David Fryer [the secretary of the group] asked a question of waste management convener Jean Morrison at a recent meeting, asking for there to be a guarantee over safety issues.
“He was met with complete silence.
“This was not included in the minutes of the meeting.
“These can often be updated and changed, but they have refused to do this for us.”
Representatives from community councils in Torry, Cove, Kincorth and Nigg were all present at the meeting.
Ian Wright, the Torry Community Council chairman, added: “The four community councils will be launching a joint complaint against the council.
“If they cannot give a safety guarantee, the obvious question is why not?”
An Aberdeen City Council spokesman said: “There was a request to amend the minutes and that will be done for the next meeting of the stakeholder group in July.”
