Police have launched a public appeal after a vehicle was set ablaze at a north-east railway line.
Officers believe the incident, which took place on the old Deeside Railway Line, Aberdeen at around 1.40am this morning, is a case of wilful fire-raising.
Emergency services were rushed to the scene after recieving reports of black Ford Focus which had been set alight on the footpath near the rear of Morrison Drive.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire relatively quickly but officers are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the hours before the blaze to get in touch.
Several positive lines of enquiry are being followed however anyone with additional information should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
