Police are hunting for thieves who raided an Aberdeenshire shop for booze.
The Co-op store in Newmachar was broken into early yesterday morning.
The alarm was raised at about 3.40am, and police said they are keen to speak to anyone who saw two cars – black and grey hatchbacks – in the area at the time.
It comes as they revealed a black Vauxhall Corsa was stolen from the Fyvie area, along with a grey Citroen C4 from Methlick through the night.
Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam said: “These inquiries are still at a very early stage, therefore we are keeping an open mind as to whether these incidents are linked.
“Several positive lines of enquiry are being followed, however I would urge anyone with information about suspicious activity in these areas to contact police as a priority.
“Both vehicles were stolen after the keys were taken from insecure properties therefore I would urge the public to ensure your homes, garages, sheds and vehicles are always locked and secure, and to keep any valuables out of sight. Please do not give thieves a chance.”
Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 08000 555111.
