Thunder and lightning have rolled across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray this morning as the UK voted for one of the largest political earthquakes in the nation’s history.
Sudden downpours of heavy rainfall have been reported across the city, and are expected to continue throughout the morning before breaking up around lunchtime.
Residents have reported being woken by booming thunder as early as 5.30am.
No flood warnings have been issued, however large amounts of flowing water have been spotted across the north-east.
