A tractor and farming equipment worth tens of thousands of pounds have been stolen from a north-east farm.
Police are appealing for information on the theft after the alarm was raised at a property on the outskirts of Cornhill, near Banff, in the evening of Wednesday, June 22.
The items – including a John Deere 6390 tractor – are thought to have been snatched between the morning of Tuesday, June 21, and the following day.
Last night, a spokeswoman for the police said the owners valued the items at a “high five-figure sum”.
Constable Benedict Williams is leading the investigation for their recovery and has appealed for anyone who may have seen the stolen goods, the tractor itself, its attachments, or the stolen fencing posts, to contact officers by calling 101.
He added: “We are very keen to speak to anyone who may have information relating to this theft and would ask them to contact police as soon as possible.
“In particular, anyone with knowledge of these distinctive pieces of farm equipment should come forward, and we would urge anyone who may be offered similar equipment to let us know.
“We are lucky our rural communities are safe environments in which to live and work.
“However, it is essential not to become complacent. I would urge the public to take necessary security steps to help prevent them from becoming a victim of crime.”
Members of the public who wish to remain anonymous can report anything they know to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The John Deere tractor has the registration SV12 AUN.
