Staff at the Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) boutique store in Cults have been named as shop team of the year in a nationwide competition.

They received the accolade at the Charity Retail Association Awards in Staffordshire after being picked as winner by a panel of experts from the sector.

The store opened four years ago and has become a firm favourite with shoppers in Aberdeen.

Shop manager Yvette Jeffrey thanked staff and customers.

She said: “We are so thrilled to have won this award.

“It is such an honour to be recognised, especially across the whole of the UK.

“The staff, volunteers and customers are at the heart of this award and I’d like to thank them all for their hard work and loyalty to the shop.

She added: “We have always had a great relationship with the local people in Cults and we have thoroughly enjoyed the last four years trading in the town.

“We never lose sight of the fact that all the money raised in CHSS’s shops supports people living with chest, heart and stroke illness across Scotland.”

Jay Hogarty, director of retail at CHSS, said: “This award acknowledges the hard work the Cults team have put in to delivering not only exceptional profitability, but also making their shop central to their community.”
