Police have urged people to be vigilant after a number of reports of fraudsters operating in the Aberdeen area.
The culprits responsible are understood to have impersonated real organisations to trick people into revealing their banking details in order to take money from their accounts.
Detective Sergeant Craig Currie said: “We would like to remind people that no official body will ever ask you to provide your PIN number and under no circumstances should you provide your PIN number to anyone.
“Should anyone call you or attend at your home asking for financial information please do not provide this without first confirming their identity with the relevant authority.
“If you have been victim of fraud from persons impersonating official organisations please contact the police.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
